The Precision Manufacturing Centre (PMC), based in the School of Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering (M3), has significant experience in different aspects of product design & production planning, with a number of current and successfully
completed projects related to the scope of SMARTLAM, including E-RACE (E-Space for Design of Reconfigurable Assembly Cells – Eureka Factory), EUPASS (Evolvable Ultra Precision Assembly Systems - FP6 IP), the 3D-Mintegration (The Design and Manufacture of 3D Miniaturised Integrated Products - UK Grand Challenge), COPERNICO (Virtual factory design - FP7 IP) and MicroTool project (process integration - EPSRC) .
